Subtle renovation of a postmodernist home by Jo Crepain from 1986

PARTICULAR ATTENTION WAS PAID TO THE CHARASTERISTIC ELEMENTS OF THE HOUSE

BY REnewing THE GLASS DALS, the timeless beauty of the existing architecture WAS RESPECTED

THE EXISTING BIRCH PLYWOOD - a TYPICAL MATERIAL USED BY CREPAIN - WAS REFRESHED and PRESERVED

the kitchen has been restored to its original lay-out

A seperate coffee cupboard was essential

the staircase with lattice steps is a real eye-cather, almost an object in itself

the ultramrine blue colour originally used on the exterior columns was extended inside

the mushroom - shaped passage was too beautiful to remove

After completely stripping the bathroom, it was rebuilt with an eye for the postmodernist design language

the rooms remained untouched

The timeless details still remain architecturally strong today

old ventilation grills now refLect the environment

After all these years, the building remains an iconic building

using blue as a connecting element, a subtle balance was created between old AND new
